The Mathea Towel Design for Tofino Towel Co.
I was so excited when Tofino Towel Co. hired me to create some new towel designs to present to them for the summer season. This particular design was created as a limited edition collaboration with Canadian Surfer, Mathea Olin, with 5% of all sales going towards supporting her journey to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games. This youthful design reflects Mathea's uniquely determined, fun loving and positive attitude on life, and I am so excited to follow her journey. This design also appealed to pop culture giant Pop Sugar for their "Summer Must-Haves" subscription box. Voted the #1 Women's lifestyle box at the 2017 Subta Cube Awards. They ordered 10,000 of these towels and sold out in 2 months. Kind of mind blowing for me, that 10,000 people have lounged on a beach towel who's print started out as a sketch in my art journal at my kitchen table. 12,000 have been printed to date.
